Public hearing on budget

The City of Pittsburgh will hold two public hearing to seek input from interested residents and community organization on the 2010 Capital Budget and the 2010 Community Development Block Grant Program.

The hearings are being held prior to the release of the 2010 Draft Capital Budget to enable the city to adequately review citizen testimony. In addition, those attending the hearing are invited to comment on the prior use of the city's CDBG funds and other federal funds.

Both hearing will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will be held at the following locations:

Wednesday, Aug. 19, Lawrenceville Senior Center, 4600 Butler Street.

Thursday, Aug. 20, Sheraden Senior Center, 720 Sherwood Avenue.

Anyone interested in signing up to give testimony at the hearings should contact the Department of Neighborhood Initiatives at 412-255-2439 by Friday, Aug. 14.
