Beltzhoover to host Community Days

Beltzhoover's Community Day Festival will take place on Saturday and Sunday, July 11-12 in upper McKinley Park.

Activities scheduled for Saturday include: Inflatable rides, for children and adults, 2-6 p.m .; Roving Art Cart; African drummers; Dance crew performances; Live performances by Pittsburgh's Finest, 7 p.m .; Music by DJ E; and, lots of vendors selling food and various wares.

Sunday's activities will begin with a Prayer in the Park church service at 11 a.m. with sermon by Rev. Jones of St. Paul A.M.E. followed by: Line dancing at 2 p.m .; Oldies with DJ E; a Karaoke Contest at 6 p.m .; The soulful sounds of the live band Balance from 3-5 p.m .; A special performance by Chyp Davis featuring Andrea Romero at 5 p.m .; and, a 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament at 5 p.m.

The Beltzhoover's Community Day Festival is hosted by the Beltzhoover Festival Committee and sponsored by: Citiparks, Ben Turner Scholarship Fund, 3 Rivers Adoption Council, Phillip Stephens Memorial, Voices Against Violence, City Councilman Bruce Kraus and State Representative Jake Wheatley.
