Bichler's celebrate 60th
Jim and Sis Bichler
Jim and Sis Bichler are celebrating their 60th Wedding Anniversary. They were married on June 25, 1949 at St. Michaels Church in the South Side.
The family has planned a celebration at Salvatore's Restaurant in Baldwin on June 28 following the noon mass at St. John Vianney Church in Allentown.
Jim and Sis have 3 children: Joseph (Phyllis) Bichler, Dolly (Chuck) Vallor, and Ray (Kathy) Bichler. They also have 10 grand-children: Jennifer (Jason) Pirrotta; Jason, Justin (Amity) and Jordann Bichler; Amy Lynn, Brian and Carrie Vallor; and, Ashley, Heather and Brittany Bichler. Just recently they were also blessed with their first great-grandson, Noah Jason Pirrotta.
Jim worked as a cabinet maker and display person and worked with the Pittsburgh Public Schools as a carpenter and retired after 23 years. Sis was employed for 17 years as a chiropractic assistant for Dr. Harry Brogan, of Mount Oliver. Both have been retired for 19 years and have enjoyed traveling the country.
The couple was involved in Scouting for 35 years and received the highest Adult Award in Scouts which was the "Silver Beaver Award." In January of 2009 they were the recipients of the "Manifesting Gods Kingdom Award" at St Paul's Cathedral.
