County pools now open

The Allegheny County Parks swimming pools in Boyce, North, Settler's Cabin and South parks are now open for the season, weather and conditions permitting.

The pools will be open daily through Mon ., Sept. 7, weather and conditions permitting. Hours of operation are 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. If a pool does not open by 2 p.m. due to inclement weather, it will remain closed for the remainder of the day.

Daily admission rates are: $5 for ages 18 to 59; $3 for ages 60 and older; $4 for ages 13 to 17; $3 for ages 6 to 12; and $1 for ages 5 and younger. Discounts are available for groups of 20 or more with 24-hour notice to the swimming facility.

Family, individual and senior pool passes are available at the Boyce, North, Settler's Cabin and South park administration offices and at all four County pools. The cost for pool passes are: $110 for a family of four (2 parents and 2 children or 1 parent and 3 children) and $15 for each additional family member; $60 for an individual pass; $30 for seniors 60 years of age and older; and $20 to replace a lost or stolen pass. Passes provide free access to County swimming facilities Monday through Friday except Independence Day and Labor Day.

Each family member must be present at the time of application in order to receive individual photo identification passes. Full payment must be made at the time of application by cash or money order. Proper proof of identification (Pennsylvania driver's license and/or state identification card) and proof of Allegheny County residency must be provided at time of application.
