HHM will benefit from concert

June 9, 2009

Hilltop Health Ministries Consortium is participating in the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra Community Partners Concert on Thursday June 25 at 8:00 p.m.

This year the concert is featuring Chaka Khan. She has been performing for 45 years and has always been an active philanthropist- she led a free breakfast program for children on Chicago's South Side early in her career. She is currently highly involved in her Chaka Khan Foundation, which is dedicated to assisting women and children at risk with a particular emphasis on Education and Autism.

Ms. Khan has won ten Grammys for her work and the PSO won a Grammy for Best Classical Performance - Instrumental Solo with Orchestra in 1992, with Yo-Yo Ma as soloist and Lorin Maazel as conductor.

This event has been the one fundraiser that HHMC has asked the community to participate in over the past several years. This year, more than ever, we need funds to help cover operating and program expenses. For each ticket that you purchase, HHMC will receive all but 50 cents of the purchase price.

Contact the Hilltop Health Ministries Consortium to purchase tickets as a group, or call the symphony box office and place an individual order. If ordering tickets individually, indicate Hilltop Health Ministries Consortium – Code 11772 as the partner of choice.

Those with further questions on the concert, or that would like to participate in the group order, contact Debbie Koch, parish nurse at 412-381-8300 x20.
