Judge gives one more chance for those with outstanding warrants to pay up
District Judge Richard King is providing an opportunity of people with outstanding warrants for failure to pay court fines and costs from his court to make arrangements with his court for payment before he issues warrants for failing to pay those fines and costs.
The outstanding warrants are a result of citations issued by the Mount Oliver Police, Mount Oliver Ordinance Officer, Pittsburgh School Police, Port Authority Police or Truancy citations issued by the Pittsburgh Public Schools and filed in court 05-3-14, District Judge Richard G. King. They also could be from former court 05-3-15, District Judge Anne Scharding.
The warrants will be issued to constables effective July 1, 2009. This will result in increased costs and possible temporary lodging in the Allegheny County Jail. The warrant information is also in a data base available to all law enforcement agencies in Pennsylvania.
Those whose name is on this list should contact in person the District Court 05-3-14 located at 2213 Brownsville Road before July 1, 2009.
There are more than 700 warrants yet to be issued for failure to pay fines, or to respond to citations issued. Anyone who has ever gotten a citation that was filed in either court listed above and wishes to know if it is still outstanding, can go online to www. aopc.org, click on "web docket sheets," scroll down to "public web docket sheets," click on "magisterial district courts" at the "search type" box, enter participant name, then enter Allegheny County and MDJ 05-3-14 or MDJ 05-3-15.
They may also contact District Judge King's office by phone on Fridays only from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m ., 412-884-1511.
