Fun for all ages happening at the South Side library

The South Side Library is planning something for everyone in the family during the month of May.

On Thursday, May 28, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., teens 12-17 can attend a Launch Party to be the first to see the new Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh Teen Website. This is one time it will be okay to make some noise in the library when the new Website is unveiled. Snacks, noisemakers and a drawing for a bag of teen books are part of the plan.

Teens who love to play Wii can form a group of three people (drummer, guitarist and singer) to rock out in the library's Rock Band tournament coming this summer. Rock Band practice will be held Saturday, May 30 at 2 p.m. Snack will be served up with the fun.

Programs for preschool and school age children are also planned. Families with children ages 2-10 can play Book Bingo on Saturday, May 23 at 11:30 a.m. They'll play a variety of bingo games with books as the prizes. Preschool Storytime, featuring stories, songs, rhymes, puppets and crafts for children 3-5 is scheduled every Thursday at 1:30 p.m.

Call 412-431-0505 for information and registration. The South Side Branch of the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh is at 2205 E. Carson Street.
