On Friday, April 24, Pittsburgh Phillips hosted a “Sashay into Spring” event that was attended by more than 150 parents, students and friends.

The event was a culminating activity designed to celebrate the hard work the children to learn folk and square dancing. The event was planned by Phillips physical education teacher Jeff Igims and music teacher Gretchen Eckroat. Over the past month the teachers combined their classes and taught the children several folk and square dancing steps and routines.

At the “Sashay into Spring” event, the children had the opportunity to not only show off all they have learned but to teach and dance with their parents and special guests
