Free celebration for seniors at South Park

A free Senior Celebration in the Park presented by the Allegheny County Executive Office will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the South Park Fairgrounds.

The day will include prizes and giveaways, free lunch and snacks, and morning refreshments compliments of Highmark. Among the day's activities will be “groovin'” to the music of the Rick Purcell Band featuring Shari Richards; line dancing with Roland Ford, the dancing DJ; and, a live cooking demonstration by Chris Fennimore, host of the WQED Cooks weekly program.

There will also be an opportunity to take a nature walk, play games and join in on other fun activities. Health screening will be available as information about programs and services in Allegheny County.

To ensure that lunches are available for all guests, registration by May 14. Register at a local senior center or by calling the DHS Event Line, 412-350-3428.
