Goodwill of Southwestern Pennsylvania is asking everyone to celebrate Earth Day 2009 on April 22 by donating their old computers, monitors and other electronic equipment to help control the growing problem of E-Waste.
Goodwill will be collecting out-of-date computers, monitors, printers, modems and other electronic items that are cluttering up homes and offices. Donors can be confident about the privacy of their data on their hard drive because all computers donated to Goodwill are professionally wiped clean to Department of Defense standards.
Computers and related items can be dropped off at any Goodwill store or Attended Donation Center (ADC). Visit www.goodwillpa.org to find the nearest store or ADC. To arrange pick up of large quantities of computers, call 412-390-2353.
Goodwill's Computer Recycling Center employs both people with disabilities and participants in welfare-to-work programs to de-manufacture computers and related equipment for environmentally responsible recycling or resale at Goodwill's computer store, ComputerWorks of South Side.
