South Side Spring Cleanup coming this weekend
The Fifth Annual South Side Spring Cleanup will coincide with this year's Great PA Cleanup on Saturday, April 18 and focus on cleaning up of the South Side Flats from 5th Street to 26th Street.
Community and Duquesne Student Volunteers will be picking up litter along Carson Street and surrounding side streets. Along with the litter pickup, community volunteers will also be removing graffiti from designated properties if weather permits.
Registration starts at 9:30 a.m. at the parking lot at 18th Street and East Carson. Registration and volunteers breakfast will run from 9:30 to 10 a.m. Clean up activities will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The South Side Community Council's Graffiti Watch Action will also be removing graffiti from designated properties with the help of Duquesne student volunteers if weather permits. Paint-Out volunteers will also meet at the 18th Street and East Carson parking lot at 9:30am. In order to have graffiti removed from private property the owner has to sign a permission form allowing the Graffiti Watch to do so.
