South Sider designs set for production of ‘Godspell'
South Side resident Alfred Kirschman is the Set Designer for Pittsburgh Musical Theatre's production of Godspell. Mr. Kirschman has worked as a scenic designer for almost 30 years.
Director Ken Gargaro suggested that the setting for the show be on Wall Street in New York City.
“I agreed since I think it's a subtle way of asking the audience whether we put God first or money first in this post 9/11 era,” Mr. Kirschman said. “This is probably the biggest set I've ever done, measuring 38 feet high by 38 feet wide. It spans the entire stage.”
Performances are at the Byham Theatre downtown and runs April 16 through April 26.
