Composting class coming up in South Side

Sign up for a Backyard Composting class with Conservation Consultants Inc. and get ready for spring.

The workshop thoroughly covers the importance of composting, setting up a compost pile, proper maintenance and ways of using finished compost. Participants will receive an Earth Machine Compost Bin with attendance. This bin, approved across the state as an ideal bin for urban and suburban areas, has an 80-gallon capacity, and has a $160 value.

Workshop cost: $40 Single/$50 Couple (includes one compost unit per registration)

• Conservation Consultants Incorporated (CCI) Center, South Side- Wednesday, April 15 from 6:30-8:15 p.m.

• East End Food Co-op, Point Breeze- Thursday, May 7 from 6:30-8:15 p.m.

• Brentwood Library, Brentwood- Saturday, May 16 from 11 a.m. -1 p.m.

• Rachel Carson Homestead, Springdale- Saturday, May 24 from 1-2:30 p.m. Register for this class and attend the Rachel Carson Sustainable Feast free of charge.
