Mount residents asked about concerns for natural areas in neighborhood

March 31, 2009

Local residents are invited to participate in a one-time focus group discussion about their hopes and concerns for the natural areas in their neighborhood.

On behalf of the Mount Washington Community Development Corporation (MWCDC), representatives from Duquesne University will facilitate these meetings. The discussions will explore the possibility of developing trails in the green spaces across the community. Each group will focus on a specific neighborhood area.

However, all are welcome to participate in any group, depending on their schedule and preference. It's not necessary to reserve a place in any group, but those planning to attend should call in advance. For more information to let the MWCDC know who will be attending contact: Ilyssa Manspeizer, Ph.D ., parks resource manager, 412-481-3220, x 204, imanspeizer@mwcdc.org.

Focus groups include:

Grandview Park area: Tuesday, March 31, 6 - 7:30 pm at Presbyterian Church of Mt. Washington, 213 Bailey Ave.

Olympia Park area: Wednesday, April 1, 6 - 7:30 pm at Manion Building at Olympia Park

Duquesne Heights Greenway area: Monday, April 6, 6 - 7:30 pm at Sweetbriar Place, 211 Sweetbriar St.
