Be My Neighbor Day in South Side

March 17, 2009

The South Side Branch of the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh will celebrate Won't You Be My Neighbor Day on Saturday, March 21 at 11:30 a.m. with puppets, a non-perishable food drive and some family fun.

Children ages 3-10 and their families are encouraged to wear a sweater that day in memory of Pittsburgh's best-known neighbor, Mister Rogers. Food items will be collected for the food bank to help neighbors in need.

Fun activities will include making hand puppets and a “puppet apartment complex” where kids can play and tell knock-knock jokes.

The South Side Library is at 2205 E. Carson Street. Call 412-431-0505 for more information.
