Home energy saving rebates, loans available

Assistance is now available in the form of rebates and low interest loans to Pennsylvania families who wish to make their homes more energy efficient

Rebates of up to $500 or low-interest loans are available to help homeowners purchase new energy efficient heating and cooling systems, programmable thermostats, water heaters, insulation, windows, doors, geothermal and “whole house” improvements using Home Performance with Energy Star, according to Fontana.

The program is available to families with household incomes of up to $150,000 who are making qualifying improvements to their primary residences.

Applications and additional program guidelines for the new Keystone Help Energy Efficiency Loan and Rebate Program are now available at http://www.keystonehelp.com or by calling toll-free at 1-888-232-3477.

The application deadline is June 30.
