City Theatre Celebrates Pittsburgh's Victory by Taking the Day off for the Super Bowl

January 27, 2009

City Theatre has cancelled all performances on February 1 to allow performers, staff and audiences alike to properly ready themselves for cheering on the Steelers.

The 2 p.m. Sunday matinees of The Seafarer and Male Intellect: The 2nd Coming! have been removed from the schedule on February 1.

“We know that our audiences love their football as much as they love new plays. Rather than make audiences choose between a new play and the big game, we can all turn our attention to beating Arizona.” Greg Quinlan, managing director, stated.

City Theatre will be contacting all ticket holders to provide other performance options. Those who hold a ticket for a February 1, 2009 performance should contact the City Theatre box office at 412-431-CITY.
