Mackenzie Barrett to attend Penn State

Mackenzie Barrett

Mackenzie M. Barrett is a 2008 graduate of Pittsburgh Carrick High School. He was Salutarian of the 2008 class with a weighted GPA of 4.21, graduating with high honors.

He earned the Superintendent's Excellence for All Achievement Award, along with awards in Spanish, science and English. He was president of the National Honor Society in 2008 and secretary in 2007.

As a member of the Carrick Business Academy, Mr. Barrett earned an award in the 2006 National Foundation of Teaching Entrepreneurship Business Plan competition, and a Distinguished Student Award of the Pittsburgh School District. He has been accepted at Penn State's School of Engineering where he will study bioengineering, then attend medical school to become a doctor of anesthesiology. He is the son of Keith and Kathleen Barrett of Bon Air.
