Anti-predatory lending workshop taking place on the hilltop June 28

June 24, 2008

First time buyers, homeowners and those refinancing their homes for improvements can all benefit from learning more about anti-predatory lending at a workshop hosted by the Allentown Community Development Corp. (A-CDC) and the Pittsburgh Community Reinvestment Group (PCRG).

The workshop will take place at the St. John Vianney Parish Center, 823 Climax Street, on Thursday, June 26, from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Call the A-CDC at 412-325-3371 to reserve a space at the free workshop.

PCRG has assisted hundreds of individuals and families who are in or worried about foreclosure. They review loan documents, interrupt loan terms and offer recommendations, free of charge. PCRG's staff of experts have been able to save homeowners and prospective homeowners thousands of dollars in interest and legal fees.

Since 1988, PCRG has helped families by advocating for equitable lending practices, educating consumers on selecting the right type of mortgage products and helping troubled consumers rework their mortgages. PCRG, a non-profit organization, works with a coalition of neighborhood groups such as the A-CDC.
