South Side library gears up with summer time activities

June 10, 2008

A puppet show featuring “Anansi the Spider” stories will kick off this summer's reading activities at the South Side Library on Saturday, June 14 at 11:30 a.m.

“Catch the Reading Bug” is the theme for this year's program, which encourages children to read all summer through a system of reporting and rewards, supported by programs for all age groups that are both educational and fun.

Bookworms Craft Club for children ages 6-12 will meet on Wednesdays at 2 p.m. and Grasshoppers Preschool Story Time will be Thursdays at 1 p.m. Family programs are also planned for one Saturday a month.

Teen Metamorphosis is an online program featuring weekly prize drawings and an end of summer grand prize. Craft and gaming programs are also planned periodically from June through August. Check with the library for dates and times.

Call 412-431-0505 for more information or go to http://www.carnegielibrary.org/locations/southside for details and registration.
