Citiparks, in partnership with Future Stars Track Club and the Housing Authority of Pittsburgh, will present the inaugural Schenley Sportsplex Track and Field Classic on Saturday, June 28.

Schenley Park will be the scene for this day of track and field competition. Experienced athletes will complete in USATF-sanctioned events while other boys and girls who desire to become involved can take part in exhibition competitions throughout the day.

No experience is necessary, but advance registration is required, for boys and girls age 6-18 to compete in a variety of events including 100 meter, 200 meter, 400 meter relay, long jump and turbo javelin.

“Exceptional athletic ability is not a prerequisite to compete on June 28,” said Duane Ashley, Citiparks director. “We're excited to give all youth an opportunity to experience this type of competition, so we're recruiting youth who possess a sincere desire to set personal goals and to train and condition to attain such goals.

Call Citiparks at 412-422-6542 to register. Advanced registration is necessary and applications must be received by Thursday, June 26.
