Annual Iris Show will be held at the Phipps Garden Center in May
The Pittsburgh Iris and Daylily Society is getting ready for their annual iris show.
Now in its 56th year, the juried cut flower show is sponsored by the American Iris Society and offers an opportunity to iris gardeners in the western Pennsylvania area to showcase their best irises. The show will be Saturday, May 17 from 1-7 p.m. at the Phipps Garden Center, Mellon Park, Shadyside
Members as well as non-members are welcome to enter. The judges are accredited by the AIS and ribbons are awarded both at a local and national level to the exhibits that meet specific criteria.
Entries for the juried show are accepted from 8-10 a.m. on Saturday, May 17. Once the judges award the prizes the cut flower exhibit will be open to the general public the rest of the day and throughout Sunday, May 18 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The show is free and open to the public and in addition to the exhibit there will be plants for sale starting at 10 a.m. May 16-18 from 10 a.m. during the May Market at Phipps Garden Center.
