Area K-5 schools will begin registering kindergarten students beginning in April

 

March 11, 2008



Kindergarten registration will begin on Tuesday, April 15, at Pittsburgh Concord K-5, Pittsburgh Phillips K-5 and Pittsburgh Roosevelt K-5 for the school year 2008-2009.

Parents should report to the Main Offices of their elementary school from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. daily, beginning April 15, 2008, to register.

Pittsburgh Concord K-5 is at 2350 Brownsville Road, 412-885-7755. Pittsburgh Phillips K-5 is at 1901 Sarah Street, 412-488-5190. Pittsburgh Roosevelt K-5 is at 17 W. Cherryhill Street, 412-885-7780.

Children must be five-years old by September 1, 2008. Parents need to bring the following items with them to the school:

• Two proofs of residency (example: utility bill, driver's license, bank statement, charge records, tax statement, evidence of receiving checks from Public Assistance or Social Security). Leases and Rent receipts are not proof of residence.

• Child's birth certificate

• Current immunization records

Principals of the schools are: Susan M. Barie, Pittsburgh Concord; Rodney Necciai, Pittsburgh Phillips; and, Vince Lewandowski, Pittsburgh Roosevelt. There will be a kindergarten orientation for parents/guardians and students in June at the respective schools. Informational and educational materials will be distributed at that time.
