Personal Mastery Course benefits STARR Camp

February 12, 2008

To raise funds for the 2008 Succeed Through Accountable Responsible Resolve (STARR) Camp, CARTE will hold its second Partner In Excellence (PIE) course in Pittsburgh April 5-6 at the Urban Mountain Gathering Place, in Mount Washington.

This 2-day Level 1 Personal Mastery Course is for all women who want to excel in their lives, personally and professionally. Net proceeds support the STARR Program for girls who have been sexually abused.

Though statistics vary, some national data on child sexual abuse indicates that one out of every three girls and one out of every six boys are sexually abused before they reach eighteen years of age.

Child Abuse Resolved Through Education (CARTE), a 501C3 non-profit organization has developed the STARR program with the mission of promoting the healing of sexually abused teenage girls, ages thirteen to eighteen. The week-long STARR Camp drives messages of responsibility, accountability and commitment as the key to transforming the teens' lives in a positive way… in spite of what happened to them. The abuse was an event in their lives; what happened to them isn't ‘who they are' and doesn't need to determine their future...they can choose differently.
