Sign language program offered at Carrick Library
The Carrick Library is offering a program for new parents to learn the benefits of using sign language with their babies through stories and songs as a way to communicate before they can speak.
An informal play session follows each presentation. Caregivers with babies up to two-years-old are welcome to attend. The six session series begins on Saturday, Feb. 23 at 11 a.m.
Children in kindergarten through fifth grade can participate in the Passport to the World program beginning Saturday, Feb. 16 at 10:30 a.m. This monthly program will begin with China as the first destination.
The Pittsburgh Zoomobile will visit the library after school on Wednesday, Feb. 20 from 3-4 p.m. and will continue for six consecutive weeks. The Zoomobile will bring live animals into the library following a story and activity the previous week.
