Chess classes at library

The Carrick branch of Carnegie Library will offer free chess classes beginning today at 6 p.m. and running through February 20. This six week session is for children in grades K-8 who have a basic knowledge of chess and would like to learn about the strategies of the game. Registration is required for the program.

“Around the World” will travel to Medieval England on Thursday, Jan. 18 at 6 p.m. Students in grades K-5 are invited to learn about King Arthur and his knights and make a craft.

Families can come to the library on January 20 at 1 p.m. for “Soup”er Winter Family Story Time. Children of all ages can warm up with favorite soup stories and make a craft. The program is for children of all ages and registration is required.
