The Board of Directors of the Brashear Association will again offer the Georgina Chamberlain Peters Scholarship, awarded annually by the association.
The scholarship is given in memory of Georgina Peters, an agency volunteer and board member who exemplified consistent and compassionate community involvement. The scholarship will be awarded at Bravo, Brashear!, the agency's annual luncheon held in the fall. Preference is given to participants in any agency program, whether as recipients of service or as agency volunteers.
Applicants must: complete and submit an application; be enrolled in an accredited post-secondary training program or educational institution in a certificate or degree program; evince strong leadership skills; and demonstrate a commitment to community services.
“We are pleased to off the Peters Scholarship. Georgina was a great volunteer who cared greatly about children and education,” Hugh Brannan, executive director of the association, said. “This scholarship will give someone the chance to get the education skills to make a commitment and a difference in our communities.”
Applications for the Peters Scholarship are available at the Brashear Center, 2005 Sarah Street, or by calling Christine Gaus at 412-431-2236. Completed applications must be submitted to the association by Friday, July 15.
